Measurement & Verification and Data Analytics Consultant (Energy Efficiency)

Ark Energy is looking for a proficient Measurement and Verification (M&V) consultant with 3+ years of experience in an ESCO or Energy Consulting industry, to be tasked with ensuring precise measurement, verification, and documentation of energy savings and performance enhancements arising from energy efficiency and renewable energy initiatives as well as carry out related data analytics and reporting works to evaluate the efficacy of energy conservation strategies and furnishing invaluable insights for ongoing and upcoming projects, including development of benchmarks.
Core Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project teams to review or develop comprehensive M&V plans tailored to each energy efficiency or renewable energy project
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs), measurement methodologies, and data collection strategies
- Analyse energy consumption data, performance metrics, and other relevant data to quantify energy savings and verify project performance. Utilize statistical methods and modelling techniques to ensure accuracy and reliability of results
- Review submissions from ESCOs that include high interval metering data and measurements as part of the M&V Reporting and M&V Plan development
- Ensure compliance with IPMVP standards, and any in-country regulatory requirements
- Prepare clear and concise M&V reports detailing the methodology, findings, and conclusions of energy savings assessments. Present findings to project teams, clients, and stakeholders in a format that is understandable and actionable
- Identify opportunities to enhance M&V processes, tools, and techniques to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability. Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments related to M&V
- Work closely with the awarded service providers (ESCO, Solar services providers and specialized technical consultants etc.) across the life-cycle of the project
- Coordinate M&V activities, timelines, and deliverables to ensure timely completion of tasks and achievement of project objectives. Track progress, manage resources, and escalate issues as needed
- Verify energy savings using IPMVP practices and review the M&V plans accordingly
- Coach and pass on knowledge to the more junior energy consultants at Ark
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, statistics, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred
- Professional certification such as Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP) and / or CEM is highly desirable
- Demonstrated experience in energy auditing, M&V, performance analysis, or related field.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software such as Excel, Python, Power BI, Tableau or MATLAB
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and draw meaningful conclusions
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively present technical information to diverse clients
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality assurance
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
- Familiarity with energy management systems, building automation systems, and energy modelling software is a plus.
- Excellent skills in building PowerPoint presentation, Excel, and other quantitative analysis software (energy modelling is a plus)
- Time management: As value-consultants, our clients expect us to execute work professionally and on time. Working hours are around 45 hours weekly in our office in Beirut, or anywhere else depending on the type of project, incl. Dubai, KSA, Cairo, or Client’s sites, wherever they are
- Candidate has to be able to operate under pressure incl. working over the Weekends (while not expected but may be required to meet deadlines). Time management is paramount
- Good understanding of solar PV technology, building systems and design, as well as the different aspects of energy modelling and energy management is a BIG PLUS
- Knowledge of Homer, PVSketch, VRay, Skellion, or IES (Energy Modelling) is a PLUS
- Languages: perfect English (writing/speaking), Arabic (writing/speaking), French is a plus

Working Conditions
- Mainly in head-office in Beirut (Antellias, A-Tower)
- May be required to travel for site visits if deployed on a consulting project (project-based)
- Working hours: 45++ hours per week with 30 minutes lunch break (get the job done in less if you can)
