Customer Solutions Consultant (Business Development)

Ark Energy ( and YouTube Video) is a leading Energy Transition, Cleantech and Energy Management Digitalization Advisory firm that consults clients to navigate their energy transition to net zero through a holistic approach to strategy, project development, funding and measurement and verification of energy efficiency and renewable energy programs. Our energy management information system ( or YouTube Video) harnesses Big Data to manage and reduce energy spend using advanced data analytics powered by AI and deep machine learning, live dashboards, and automated M&V, energy and ESG reporting

We are seeking a highly self-motivated, resilient, and energetic Business Development Consultant to join our team to help in the growth of our business and support in linking us to potential clients within MEA region. Below are the listed responsibilities of the Business Development Consultant

• Drive the end-to-end sales process
• Respond to Client’s RFPs and submit our responses (proposals)
• Generate leads for arkEMIS and Ark Energy by researching out to the market and carrying out client mapping, segmentation and prioritization using Ark Energy’s tools to identify potential leads
• Connect with potential leads and prospective clients to introduce our services and digital platform
• Qualify opportunities as they are identified by Ark Energy team (CEO, CSO, and other members) or by researching the websites of potential clients
• Register Ark Energy as a supplier of consulting services to different websites for qualified target clients across the region in order to receive RFPs
• Conduct research on potential suppliers within and outside of the region
• Conduct research on potential competition from peers and other businesses with details on their service/product charges
• Analyze Voice of the Customer to suggest changes in pricing, product, placement or promotion to the CEO to improve our product offering
• Collaborate closely with our content management executive to market our services on the right social media channels
• Prepare proposals and respond to RFPs
• Utilize existing proposal and sales tools and improve them as needed to streamline our “WIN” process (to prepare proposals that are winners based on data points collected from previous winning or losing submissions and learn from our mistakes)
• Engage our internal energy consultants to develop the business cases and preliminary technical assessments required for a “Winning” proposal
• Manage our CRM and BD pipeline, working on a daily basis with the CEO / CSO and consultants supporting the proposal preparation process
• Follow up with leads and prospects to set the meetings and collect essential data to prepare the proposals
• Work with the Operations Teams to identify additional work within existing accounts and projects (VOC)
• Be responsible for all PR activities involved in the company
• Prepare marketing material (static, online using our website)
• Prepare a marketing and communication plan incl. newsletter, insights, case studies etc.
• Develop the company’s marketing strategy to ensure a proper company marketing position
• Develop sales channels for our digital product (arkEMIS) globally

• 1 to 5 years in B2B industrial sales, digital sales, energy or renewable energy industry or Sustainability & Environmental Industry
• Willing to go beyond the “minimum”, incl. working outside business hours, weekends to win projects
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport and generate business in the digitalization or consulting industry in business-to-business (B2B) sales
• Impeccable verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Go-getter attitude, thriving on success and winning, and aggressive to get the job done
• Problem-solving skills to propose mutually beneficial solutions
• Proficiency with MS office
• Experience in Power BI is a PLUS
• Ability and willingness to travel for meetings with prospective and existing clients
• Bachelor of Engineering or Business Administration
• Master of Engineering Management, Master of Business Administration, Master of Science (Economics, Energy Studies) is a PLUS
• Time management: As value-consultants, our clients expect us to execute work professionally and on time. Working hours are around 45 hours weekly in our office in Beirut, or anywhere else depending on the type of project, incl. Dubai, KSA, Cairo, or Client’s sites, wherever they are
• Candidate has to be able to operate under pressure incl. working over the Weekends (while not expected but may be required to meet deadlines). Time management is paramount
• Good understanding of solar PV technology, building systems and design, as well as the different aspects of energy modelling and energy management is a BIG PLUS
• Knowledge of Homer, PVSketch, VRay, Skellion, or IES (Energy Modelling) is a PLUS
• Languages: perfect English (writing/speaking), Arabic (writing/speaking), French is a plus

Candidate shall report directly to CEO or CSO and work closely with the energy consulting team

Mainly in head-office in Beirut (Antellias, A-Tower)
May be required to travel for site visits if deployed on a consulting project (project-based)
Working hours: expectation is a min. of 45 hours per week with 30 minutes lunch break, however, as part of the BD team, you own your own time, your KPIs are the ones that drive your working hours
