Managing utility bill data with Utility Management

Unlock Savings with Utility Management Software using Advanced workflows for bill entry, approval, and payment.

Challenges for traditional billing
  • Inefficient processes, including manual bill tabulation, complex bill-splitting procedures, and manual export of billing data to accounting systems
  • Limited accuracy and oversight, leading to inaccurate energy cost analysis, difficulty detecting billing errors, and unreliable forecasting of future expenses
  • Lack of standardization and visibility, such as the absence of standard metrics for energy performance and limited project transparency

Frequently asked questions
Do we need to input the bills into arkUM manually?
We recommend using Bill Capture, where you can send us your bills, and they will be scanned and uploaded directly into the system. Alternatively, you can use the Excel import tool, where data is entered into a template and imported into arkUM.
Can we integrate BTU meters into arkUM?
Yes, BTU meters should either be connected to arkEMIS or provided to us with interval data via Excel or CSV file. If connected to arkEMIS, we can add the additional tags and share a variation request based on the deliverables.
How can we import weather data for the adjusted baseline?
The system automatically pulls ambient temperature data based on the building's location. By specifying the cooling degree day balance point (which can be manually adjusted based on the building type), arkUM adjusts the baseline through a regression model that includes the weather factor.
Can we monitor live data by connecting meters or sensors to arkUM?
Live data monitoring is managed through arkEMIS, our Energy Management Information System, which enables real-time data collection and monitoring via connected meters or sensors.
Can we add the occupancy for each year?
Yes, occupancy can be added as a data point and integrated into the Baseline adjustment.
Are the platforms cloud-based? Can we access them from anywhere?
Yes, all our platforms, including arkUM, CarbonHub, and arkEMIS, are cloud-based and can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection.
